Tonie & Renato - Preparations

The early part of the wedding day is one of my favorites because it can be such an emotional time. There might be some stress due to a late hair appointment or a lost garter, but for the most part it's fun and anticipation all wrapped up in one! Tonie and Renato were no exception and their video reflected the mood of the morning. I hope you enjoy it!

If the video takes a while to buffer, press play, then press pause again to let it finish buffering (you'll see the little gray bar at the bottom go all the way to the right) then press play again and it should play better. It will be worth the wait!

Holy Cow!

Holy cow...has it really been THAT long since I posted a blog entry?! Things have been even crazier than usual around here!

I blogged earlier about Dalia & Mitchell's wedding which we filmed in West Palm Beach in March. Well just a few days after getting home from there, a colleague in the LA area asked me (Laura) to come do a Same Day Edit for a corporate event. That was fun and involved quite a few retired NBA stars. But I wasn't prepared to see snow in the foothills and froze my patootie off! LOL!! I did manage to get a great shot of the palm trees with snow in the background...certainly not something I'm used to seeing!

After that short adventure, we had another 'short notice trip' down to San Diego to film some Pearl Harbor vets. Those men really are one-of-a-kind heroes and it was an honor to capture their stories in High Definition. One of the gentlemen, John Finn is the last living Medal of Honor recipient from the attack on Pearl Harbor. He is such an engaging and fascinating man! A special thanks to our buddy Randy Stubbs for letting us borrow his lighting kit so we didn't have to ship ours down there!

The week after that, a corporate client needed us to go to Jacksonville, Florida and Waukegan, Illinois to create some client testimonials for an upcoming meeting. That happened in the midst of the American Airlines MD80 debacle and we saw a lot of people who were stranded at Chicago O'Hare. The trip was filled with flight delays and lots of cold rain (even in Florida!) so we were actually happy to get back home to the 50-degree weather! LOL!! Thankfully the following week found us in Honolulu for an on-site editing session with a client and we were able to warm up quite a bit! So basically at the beginning of March when I looked at my calendar we had one trip coming up. By the end of April we had FOUR more added in! Crazy!

All this traveling has us very thankful to be home, although I wouldn't have minded if we just staying in Hawaii forever. :) We are a little bit suntanned, exhausted, and behind on our editing but we are soooo grateful for our children having been away too many nights from them over the last two months. I swear they grew at least an inch while we were coming and going! Mega kudos to Andrew (our oldest son and editor extraordinaire!) for holding down the fort and keeping his little brothers in check! Now it's time for some serious editing all-nighters!

Cindy & Richard's SDE

Yesterday we did a great wedding for Cindy & Richard. Cindy was a guest at a friend's wedding last year where we did a Same Day Edit and made a mental note to herself to hire us someday when she got married. Well that day came sooner than I think she realized and she saw us at the Seattle Wedding Show and remembered we were the ones she wanted! Life is crazy like that sometimes!

Cindy and her girls got ready at the Edgewater Hotel then headed over to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church were Richard saw his bride for the first time that day. Cindy's father was well enough to walk her down the aisle which was a very special moment and one she will have forever to watch again and again. We had a great time shooting with Ken from Azzura Photography...Ken you are too fun! :)

After the lucky couple was wed, they headed back to the Edgewater where we showed this fun video just a few hours later. I LOVE this song and I think it fit Cindy VERY well!

Article in Honolulu Star-Bulletin

Here is a link to an article printed the other day in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. I had finally gotten around to sending out some press releases for the First Place Telly Award we received for this short documentary and they decided to write a story. The only thing wrong is that we didn't bring the survivors out to the island, the museum director did. I'm going to have to see if they can correct that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the article!

Beautiful Greek Wedding Ceremony

Here is a Greek wedding ceremony held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle. I hope you enjoy it!

Wedding Weekend in Florida

Chris and I are in Fort Lauderdale this weekend to shoot Dalia & Mitchell's wedding tomorrow in West Palm Beach. The weather has been amazing and yes, it's Spring Break too! So the beaches are crowded with college kids but we haven't seen too much crazy stuff yet! Dalia booked an incredible room for us overlooking the beach. So cool!

Today we filmed Dalia & Mitchell's blessing from the Rabbi and tomorrow is the big day! We are working with Craig Larsen Jr who is a photographer also from Washington. It's great for Dalia & Mitchell to be able to meet with us back home in Washington both before and after the wedding and have us here for the events.

Since June marks our 15th wedding anniversary, Chris and I decided to add on a few days to this trip and take a short cruise to the Bahamas. I've never been on a cruise nor to the Caribbean before so I was really excited! Now the day after the cruise is over I have to say I was NOT disappointed! We snorkeled, jet-skiied, and did something really cool called snuba and got pretty sunburned! A videographer who previously purchased our training DVD picked us up in Nassau and we went to his studio to check out his work and give him some tips. Now he is hoping to come to Seattle for some one-on-one training which will be fun! While on the island he gave us a personal tour and turned us on to conch fritters and Kalik beer! Yum! Thanks, Rodger!

I'll post some photos when we get back home since I can't figure out how to do that from my phone! In the meantime, I hope everyone joins me in wishing Dalia & Mitchell well in thier new marriage! Mazeltov!!

Nicole & Byron Are Going to Be Parents!

One of our amazing couples, Nicole and Byron, were married in October 2006 at Lord Hill Farms and just THIS morning they found out they are having a baby!! They are going to be such amazing parents! Just watch their highlight video and you'll see how in love they are with each other. They will have such a great home filled with love to raise a child in! Please pray that Nicole has an easy, healthy pregnancy with a happy, healthy baby this October! And enjoy their video!! :)

What An Event!!

Wow....Chris and I attended Urban Unveiled at Benroya Hall last night and it was spectacular! It was a very swanky atmosphere and we saw lots of familiar faces including several of our clients who are getting married this year!

Our friend and DJ-royale, Austin Beaver from Nite Lite Entertainment made sure to introduce us to people that we didn't already know too! (Thanks so much for taking the time to do that, Austin!) And if YOU are still looking for a DJ consider hiring Austin...not only is he a super nice guy, but he can rock the house and keep your event running smoothly all at the same time. Talk about talent!

It was a fun night and hopefully we will be participating in the next show! If you missed it last night, you really did miss a fantabulous evening so keep your eyes peeled for the next show and BE THERE!

On a different note, we FINALLY sent out some press releases about a few awards we won. This was posted today on a Hawaii News Site and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin will be running a story in the newspaper soon. Fun!

And I PROMISE I'll post some more video soon! Just been busy, busy, busy lately!
